About

Wherever I have lived in my life, I have always found a home on my yoga mat.
Ten years ago, like many people, I felt lost in the world. I had insecurities about my abilities and worth as a human being. I decided to try yoga because I thought it was an activity that I could excel at. I thought that success would provide me with a sense of value and bring me the peace and stability that I had been seeking. Once I started practicing, I saw how my own self-perceptions were limiting my potential. By letting go of negative self-judgments, I was free to shape my life as I pleased. Yoga turned me on to the power of my own greatness and I tapped in to it. Yoga became an anchor in my life from which I was able to expand.
At 24, I moved to New York City and everything I knew about myself was stripped away from me. Even my yoga practice suffered. I felt I had lost my roots and I was faced with the challenge of creating a new abode to call my own. As this feeling of instability gained leverage on my life, so did my desire to change that feeling. Seeking to satisfy this longing, I stumbled upon Anusara yoga and have not looked back since.
In recognition of the space that yoga provides me, I invite my students to find a home on the mat. Building a home is not always easy: sometimes it means facing things we’d rather move away from. But the foundation of a home gives us the strength to follow our own hearts. In my class, you are invited to cultivate your own foundation of self-awareness and familiarity. You will be physically challenged—because life offers us both good times and hard times—in order to build an abode that can withstand the tests of life. From this space of foundation and strength, you can explore and create anything you can dream.

Hannah is trained in Anusara yoga and is dedicated to the power of its method and Tantric philosophy. She expresses gratitude to all of her teachers, especially Zhenja LaRosa, Sharon Rudy, Holly Horvath, and the greatest teachers of all, her students.
